For over 35 years, our client has been a dedicated member of the community, deeply engaged in both her professional and artistic endeavours. As the owner of a retail store and gallery, as well as a practising artist, her work has regularly been exhibited, enriching the local arts scene through exhibitions, open studios, and workshops. More than just a creator, she has always sought to uplift and connect people through her art, fostering inspiration within the community.
Beyond her artistic contributions, she has played a significant role in supporting local initiatives, donating to schools and causes such as the women’s shelter in her community. Her commitment extends to teaching dance classes and running community workshops, demonstrating her passion for fostering inclusivity and connection. She has also been a devoted caretaker for her elderly parents, providing them with crucial support as they navigate the challenges of aging.
Known as a compassionate and respectful individual, her character has always reflected thoughtfulness and non-violence. However, on 21 March 2025, she found herself in an unfortunate situation that led to a charge of common assault, a moment she deeply regrets. This incident arose from a verbal argument initiated by her partner regarding a longstanding family dispute. Overwhelmed and emotionally affected, she reacted in a manner out of character, never intending to cause harm.
Recognising her remorse and longstanding positive contributions to the community, negotiations with the police commander and the prosecutor resulted in the withdrawal of the common assault charge. A six-month Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) was imposed as a standard procedural measure to ensure protection to the PINOP.
This resolution acknowledges her deep regret over the incident while allowing her to continue serving as a valued member of her community. Her commitment to her family, artistic expression, and local advocacy remains unwavering, demonstrating that one isolated incident does not define a lifetime of meaningful contributions.
The client is very happy with the result and can continue with her life and professional artistic endeavours without any legal obstacles.
